Who Will Stay, Who Will Go

by @ 5:00 pm. Filed under 2007 Pirates

The trading deadline is coming up, and while the Pirates got fleeced last year, it’ll be interesting to see what happens this year.  The Pirates have some solid markers, but it looks like the front office is so out of touch with reality that a deal probably won’t get done.  The rumored Jack Wilson for Troy Glaus offer was pretty laughable and you wonder if anyone will even want to deal with the Pirates.

There’s a great profile on Jason Bay at Baseball Prospectus.  Good stuff and it’ll give you everything and anything you want to know about the slugging outfield.

In other news at BP, it looks like Ian Snell is making some noise.  It’d be shame if we lost a quality pitcher like Snell so hopefully they’ll do whatever they can to keep him happy.

The Pirates and Reds are duking it out for last place in the Central.  In the meantime, the Pirates have to contend with the Mets.  I’m listening the games, but it’s tough getting into the games too much with yet another losing season.
