Pirates rally late, Laroche brothers lead the way, help defeat Reds, 6-5

Game 138 Recap-

The Pittsburgh Pirates rallied behind the Brother tandem of Adam and Andy Laroche to defeat the Cincinnati Reds 6-5 Wednesday at Great American Ball Park in Ohio. Adam(1B) and Andy(3b) had back to back rbi singles in the decisive 8th inning after Andy(right) put the Pirates up 4-3 in the 6th. The rally overcame a strong performance by Reds rh Edinson         Volquez(16-5,3.12) who struck out 13 in 7 innings.

RH Ross Ohlendorf(1-1,6.26) retired the 1st 8 batters he faced but was touched for  2 runs in the 4th(1b Joey Votto homer, passed ball) and another run in the 5th(Chris Dickerson homer).  The youngster,part of the Xavier Nady-Damaso Marte trade, looked good, over 6 innings, he allowed 7 hits and 4 runs(3 earned) with 2 ks and a walk. Closer Matt Capps(3.37) earned his 19th save with  a 1-2-3 9th inning,emphasized with a lead off K.

The Brothers Laroche- 3 hits and 3 big rbi

Pirates Notes-

4 different batters had 2 hits apiece: LF Nyjer Morgan, CF Nate McLouth, C Ryan Doumit and Adam Laroche… McLouth stole 2 bases and Morgan also had steal..SS Jack Wilson was out with a bruised right finger  and Brian Bixler started at SS, going 0 for 4
