Game 94 Recap-
Cardinals 2b Aaron MIles had 5 rbi and St Louis had to absorb another Pirates rally midgame pulling away late, beating Pittsburgh, 11-6. This was a game of survival with both teams combining for 23 runs Saturday, both starters went 5 innings + despite allowing 10 earned runs combined. Today the teams had 27 hits(12 by Pittsburgh) and 6 more walks.
The Pirates scored in the 1st when RF Xavier Nady singled in 2b Chris Gomez.RH Ian Snell(3-7,5.92) was on his game until the Cards plated 4 runs in the 4th,OF Chris Duncan doubled in the 1st run and Miles followed with a 3 run homer. The Pirates rallied for 3 of their own in the 5th vs Cardinals RH Joel Pineiro(3-4,4.52). C Ryan Doumit doubled in 1 and LF Jason Bay singled in two more to make it a tie game at 4.
After St Louis scored a run in the 6th to take a lead at 5-4, the Pirates scored 2 on a rbi double by Gomez for a 6-5 score. The Cardinals grabbed the lead and the game in the 7th with a 4 run frame off of Pirates RH Franquelis Osoraria(3-2,6.58). 3b Troy Glaus(double), Duncan(single) and Miles(2 run triple) had rbi rips. St Louis added 2 more runs in the 8th and 9th on solo shots by RF Ryan Ludwick(#21 in the 8th) and Glaus(#15 in the 9th). Pittsburgh could not muster an late game magic and only mustered 3 base runners over the final 3 innings.
