Game 130 Recap-
Ex- Pirates Aramis Ramirez homered and drove in 3 runs, leading the Chicago Cubs to a 12-3 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates Monday at PNC Park in Pennsylvania. Veteran lefty Ted Lilly(13-7,4.23) was tough for innings to get the win, while CF Jim Edmonds added 3 hits and all star rf Kosuke Fukudome also had 3 hits with 4 rbi. Pirates LF Brandon Moss and 1b Adam Laroche(2 run) homered. Chicago is now 12-4 vs Pittsburgh in the season series.
Pirates RH Jeff Karstens(2-3,3.48) had his roughest outing since coming to the NL. Over 3 innings, he allowed 6 hits and 5 runs with 1 walk and a K. Every Cubs starter except rookie X Geovany Soto recorded a hit and either scored a run or drove in one. Pirates RH Jason Davis(5.54) got kicked around in 2 innings, allowing 5 runs, LH Sean Burnett(4.57) also had a tough night, giving up 2 in his 2 frames.
Star of the Game-
Cubs team- Everyone did something in this game, best club in the NL
Pirates Notes-
McLouth was back starting in CF after missing time with flu, he was 1 for 3. Nyjer Morgan took over late in the blowout…. Moss and 2b Freddy Sanchez had 2 hits apiece to pace the team…RH RP Denny Bautista was the only pitcher not to give up any runs over his 2 frames
Something to think about….
Team is 7-16 since trading LF Jason Bay( a week after RF Xavier Nady), since then they have scored 5 runs twice and have scored 3 or less 15 times. This team had a hidden gem with the best offensive OF in the NL statistically, shame on this management team for dumping both players! If you where CF Nate McLouth you would have the flu too!
